The Robinhood signal — what "agentic trading" means
Robinhood announced that eligible US customers will soon be able to connect an AI agent to a dedicated Robinhood account and let it trade crypto on their behalf — with the same real-time P&L tracking and push notifications they already use for agentic trading.
Unpacked, that's three things stacked:
- Prediction markets — Robinhood already lets millions trade event contracts. That's a probability surface an agent can read.
- A Layer-2 on Ethereum — Robinhood is building an L2 for tokenized stocks and crypto. That's the on-chain rail where flow becomes visible.
- Agentic execution — an agent gets its own sub-account and can place trades, not just suggest them. You stay in control (eligibility, funding, notifications); the agent does the watching and acting.
neohood is the analysis brain for that stack. Today it runs read-only: it reads the markets and the wallets and tells you where the edge is. When the agentic-trading API opens to developers, the same engine can be wired to a dedicated account to execute — with hard limits and human-in-the-loop by default. Read-only alpha now, execution-ready later.
How it works
Three loops, one feed:
- Price the truth. For each market, the engine estimates a fair probability and subtracts the crowd price. The gap is the edge; the sign tells you the side (YES/NO/PASS).
- Track the money. Smart-money and dormant wallets are scored for "heat" from balance, transaction cadence, and recent transfers.
- Rank the alpha. Market edges and wallet heat are merged and ranked into a single feed you can skim in seconds.
Markets — data & categories
Market data comes from a public event-contract API — the same kind of engine behind Robinhood's prediction markets. Prices are implied probabilities (0–100¢). neohood buckets everything into five categories: crypto, economics, education, entertainment, sports. Each market page shows the book plus the engine's fair value, edge, drivers, and risks.
If the live feed is unreachable (e.g. restricted network), the app degrades to a small sample set clearly flagged as sample. On Vercel with open egress, it's live.
Wallets — the trench scanner
The wallet tracker is focused on smart wallets, in two buckets:
- ◎ Smart money — active wallets with a real trading footprint, ranked by activity.
- ☾ Dormant wake — funded but idle wallets. A first move is often the signal.
On top of the curated watchlist, neohood auto-discovers active traders on Robinhood Chain — Robinhood's own Ethereum L2 (chain id 4663, live since July 2026) — by reading its Blockscout explorer. So the tracker follows real wallets moving on the chain Robinhood built, not just a static list.
Balance, nonce, and contract status come from public RPC (with automatic fallback across providers, since public RPCs are often blocked from serverless IPs). Transfer-level activity on Ethereum/Base is streamed to sharpen the signal. The curated watchlist is a starter and the tracker keeps discovering new wallets on its own.
The Neohood Engine
Analysis is produced by the Neohood Engine, a hosted reasoning model. The provider and the concrete model are intentionally hidden: every call runs server-side and the model name never reaches the browser. The public surface only ever says "Neohood Engine".
If the engine is briefly offline, markets still render with market-implied prices and a clear "engine offline" note.
